WBC Eliminator: Kavaliauskas Gets Opponent

Former world title challenger Egidijus Kavaliauskas (24-2-1, 19 KOs) is set to face undefeated French contender Souleymane Cissokho (17-0, 9 KOs) in a WBC final eliminator at welterweight (66.7 kg).

The bout will take place on May 10 in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea. The winner will become the mandatory challenger for the WBC world title, currently held by Mario Barrios.

Kavaliauskas, also known as "Mean Machine," last suffered defeat in 2021 to Vergil Ortiz Jr., but bounced back with two wins in 2022 and 2023. He has yet to fight in 2024.

Cissokho, an Olympic bronze medalist, was also inactive in 2023 and is looking to reestablish his momentum in this high-stakes showdown.
