WBC Names the Requirement for Jake Paul’s Title Fight

Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), told BoxingScene the single step influencer‑boxer Jake Paul (12‑1, 7 KOs) must take before he can challenge for a WBC belt: defeat a fighter ranked in the WBC’s top 15 at Cruiserweight.

Sulaiman praised Paul for the spotlight he has brought to boxing—highlighting June’s win over former Middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr. and November’s victory against 58‑year‑old Mike Tyson—but insists the YouTuber must stop facing long‑inactive or faded opponents and beat a legitimate top contender for the WBC to sanction a title fight.
