WBC announced the fight between Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has given the green light to an epic showdown for the world championship title in the first welterweight (up to 63.5 kg) between undefeated British fighter, Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KO) and American powerhouse, Teofimo Lopez (18-1, 13 KO).

Both teams have a limited window of ten days to agree on the specifics of the bout, failing which open promotional auctions will be arranged.

It's worth noting that Josh Taylor, who is 32 years old, has already won the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) and was formerly the absolute world champion in the first welterweight, but currently only holds the WBO title.
