WBA President Agrees to Title Fight for Jake Paul

President of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Mendoza, has expressed his willingness to sanction a title fight between YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs).

"I am not against a fight between Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for the championship," Mendoza wrote.

In the early hours of July 21, Jake Paul defeated former UFC fighter Mike Perry (0-2) via technical knockout in the 6th round, marking his third consecutive stoppage victory. After the fight, Jake expressed his desire to become a world champion in cruiserweight (up to 90.7 kg).

On the same card, Chavez Jr. won a unanimous decision over Uriah Hall (1-1, 0 KOs). In a post-fight interview, Julio mentioned Jake Paul as a desired opponent.
