In an interview with Sky Sports, Frank Warren, the head of Queensberry Promotions, commented on the upcoming fight for the absolute world heavyweight championship (over 90,7 kg) between the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The promoter believes that the Ukrainian will aim for Fury's cut, but the Brit has a response ready.
"Will Usyk try to hit Tyson in the cut? I think he will try to do it. He had a worse cut in the fight against Otto Wallin. Tyson had a terrible cut, but he convincingly won the fight.
Fury has a Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C, and more importantly, he has a big heart. If Tyson senses any weakness, he exploits it, and that's why this will be such an exciting fight. On the other hand, Usyk might feel that after the fight with Ngannou, he can use certain things, and I'm sure he will. He's a competitor. He's competed from amateurs to this day. He's done everything asked of him.
As I've said, Usyk's Achilles' heel, and I'm surprised that so-called experts never noticed it, has always been his body. Daniel Dubois was prepared to exploit this, and he almost managed to do it. I think Tyson will knock him out. As I suspected, he would knock out Wilder in their second fight. I really hope he does.
I think he'll stop him, but it will be really entertaining for as long as it lasts.
You have two undefeated fighters, the best in their generation, and we'll find out who is the true champion on May 18," Warren said.
The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
