Promoter of former WBC titleholder Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and head of Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren, shared when the rematch between his client and undisputed world heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) might take place.
"I spoke with Fury after the fight and when he got back, just to make sure he was okay. He was very disappointed but took it philosophically.
The rematch was signed before the first fight happened, and that date will be set within the next month or so. Both fighters have said they want it, so we will proceed from there.
It was a phenomenal fight, two absolute gladiators who gave everything in the ring in an epic battle, the most significant fight of the 21st century.
The fight was very, very close, and I think next time it will be even bigger," Warren said.
On the night of May 19, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. The Ukrainian is the first undisputed champion in this division since November 13, 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in their rematch.
