British promoter Frank Warren believes that in the first encounter between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, it was the Ukrainian who expended more energy.
"Tyson has great recovery abilities; just recall his fights. He was down against Wilder in the first fight—I thought it was over, but he got up. He went down two more times in the trilogy. He falls, but he always rises again.
People forget that Usyk also got hurt a few times, especially against Daniel Dubois, regardless of what actually happened… He was hurt.
After they stepped into the ring with each other, the question is: who used up more energy in the last fight? And I’m certain it was Usyk.
They’re both very smart, experienced fighters. Usyk has become a bigger guy. Considering he came up from cruiserweight, he’s been a natural heavyweight for the last four and a half years," said Warren.
Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, responded to the promoter:
"Frank must have been watching a different fight," Klimas said.
The rematch will take place on December 21. In their first meeting in May, Usyk won by split decision.
