Warren Announces Date and Venue of Kabayel’s Next Bout

Interim WBC heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel (26-0, 18 KO) is expected to return to the ring this autumn in Germany.

The news came from Frank Warren, founder and head of Queensberry Promotions.

“We’d like to stage a show in Germany this autumn, and he (Kabayel) will be the star attraction. He’s already proved he’s an exciting fighter with fast hands—technical, and able to fight when he has to.

We have ideas about his next opponent, and he’s in a very good position right now. Plenty of attractive fights are open to him.

It’s been a while, but I once promoted shows in Germany with Peter Kohl and Universum. There were many fights back then—I loved it, and we chalked up good wins. That was the late ’80s and early ’90s, but maybe it’s time to go back.

We might put some of our own boxers on the undercard, yet overall we want to give German fighters a chance,” Warren said.

Kabayel last boxed in February, stopping Zhang Zhilei by sixth-round knockout.
