In an interview with talkSPORT, promoter and head of Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren outlined the conditions for a bout between former champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and WBC heavyweight (over 90,7 kg) titleholder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).
"Is a fight between Joshua and Fury possible this year? No. How many times do we have to tell everyone that our stance is really simple.
There will be a fight on May 18th in Riyadh. The loser of this fight will have the right to a rematch, and they will take it because huge money is involved.
I'm sure that after that, we will get this fight, provided Fury wins both bouts, and if AJ continues to win," Warren said.
On March 8th, Anthony Joshua knocked out Francis Ngannou (0-2) in the second round. Anthony is now being called the main contender for a fight against the winner of the Hrgovic vs. Dubois pair, which could take place on June 1st.
Tyson Fury's next match is scheduled for May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the undisputed heavyweight world championship against the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs).
