Tyson Fury's promoter (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and head of Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren, spoke about his client's mental state after losing to undisputed heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).
«Tyson took it very philosophically, and he just wants a rematch. He said in the ring that he wants a rematch, he said in the locker room that he wants a rematch, and he told me a few days ago when he got back home that he wants a rematch.
Very philosophical. Obviously, he’s disappointed, but philosophical. He felt that he won. But it was a close fight. I understand why some people say Usyk won. I understand why some say it was a draw. I felt that Fury won by one round, but I’m not complaining – it was a great fight between two gladiators. It was the best heavyweight fight of the century because four belts were on the line. They gave everything in the ring,» said Warren.
On the night of May 19, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision and became the undisputed heavyweight champion. Usyk is the first undisputed champion in this division since November 13, 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in a rematch.
