WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury's (34-0-1, 24 KOs) promoter, Frank Warren, has responded to those who have called his charge a coward.
"This is the guy who went to Germany to fight Klitschko for the world title and beat him. This is the guy who went to America to fight the undefeated guy who had been champion for six years in the heavyweight division - Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs). This is the heavyweight with the most powerful punch, and Tyson faced him not once, but three times.
Do me a favor, it's pathetic, professional fighters should know better. I think he will win, I think Tyson is the best heavyweight on the planet. In his last fight against Ngannou, he wasn't in the best shape, but he came out and won the fight.
He will be ready for the fight with Usyk, everything will be alright, and the wound will heal. It's not something extraordinary when fights in boxing are postponed.
In sparring, you actually hit each other, so injuries happen. Unfortunately, it happened to Tyson," Warren concluded.
The fight for the undisputed heavyweight title (over 90.7 kg) between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
