In an interview with iFL TV, British heavyweight representative (over 90.7 kg) Fabio Wardley (17-0, 16 KOs) shared his thoughts on the fight between Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) and Francis Ngannou (0-1).
"Joshua is ready to use this fight to make a statement. Not to say, 'I'm back,' as if he ever went anywhere, but I know many have asked, 'Where's the old AJ?' So, I think he's trying to say, 'Look, I'm going to put on a show.' Last time, you only saw glimpses of this, but now you will see everything in full.
He's had more time to work with Ben and the team and hone his skills, so I think during the fight, he'll bring it all together. Can Ngannou provide worthy competition? It's hard to say. He definitely has the power to do so. If the opportunity presents itself – I don't think he'll miss it. But Ngannou is a very tough person, also accustomed to striking with elbows and knees, not just soft gloves, so we'll see," said Wardley.
In his last fight in October last year, Wardley won by technical knockout against David Adeleye (12-1, 11 KOs). Fabio's next fight will be on March 31 against Briton Frazer Clarke (8-0, 6 KOs).
Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou will enter the ring on March 8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
