Ward on Implementing the UFC Model in Boxing

Former champion Andre Ward shared his thoughts on what boxing would look like if it had only one governing body, comparing it to the UFC model.

"I know people like the idea [of implementing the UFC model in boxing], and I respect what Dana White and the UFC have done. But it seems to me there's too much control. I would like everyone to work together. I'd like to see what would come out of it. It would have to be someone with billions of dollars who could make all the promoters agree that now he would control all the processes. But there are too many egos in this business – the egos of promoters, managers. I don’t think they would agree to have one person manage the whole process. So, I don’t think it will ever happen," said Ward. Ward fought his last match in 2017 and throughout his career (32-0, 16 KOs) never suffered a defeat.
