Walters Names the Recipe for Victory for Kambosos

In an interview with Boxing Scene, 38-year-old lightweight Nicholas Walters (29-1-1, 22 KOs) gave his thoughts on the upcoming fight between IBO lightweight champion George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) and Vasiliy Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs).

"Lomachenko is a special fighter. But Kambosos is also special. Look at what he did with Teofimo Lopez. It's not something you can hide – he's a very good fighter. I've seen him in the gym, he's quick on his feet, looks good, and confident. If he's as confident and quick, he should have an advantage. If he can use his power – just like Lopez did with Lomachenko – and keep Lomachenko at a distance, then he can win. All it takes in boxing is one punch. Just one punch can change everything. George just needs to listen to his corner and do what's necessary, not what Lomachenko wants him to do. If he does what he's been taught – he will succeed," said Walters.

The fight between George Kambosos and Vasiliy Lomachenko will take place on May 12th in Perth, Australia. The IBO title, currently held by Kambosos, and the vacant IBF belt will be up for grabs.
