Former world champion, 38-year-old Jamaican Nicholas Walters (28-1-1, 22 KOs), discussed the weight class he plans to fight in after his return.
"I've spoken with my team. I think we're going to balance between 130 and 135 pounds (super featherweight (up to 59 kg) and lightweight (up to 61,2 kg)).
I have no problem making 135 pounds. Our team works perfectly. As I've said before, I've sparred with world champions and good active fighters. I look good. So, we will meet a good opponent," Walters shared.
Until 2016, Nicholas was the WBO champion in the super featherweight division (up to 57,2 kg) until he lost to Vasyl Lomachenko by stoppage. After that, Walters did not box for seven years – he returned to boxing in 2023. He now has two consecutive wins. On the night of March 27 to 28, Walters will face 24-year-old American Joseph Adorno (18-3-2, 15 KOs).
