Wallin on Fury's Injury: "Nonsense"

In an interview with the iFL TV YouTube channel, Swedish boxer Otto Wallin (26-2, 14 KOs), who competes in the heavyweight division (over 90.7 kg), commented on the information that WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) may have intentionally inflicted a cut on himself to postpone the fight for the undisputed heavyweight world title against the holder of the WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO belts, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs).

"Nonsense. Who would do such a thing? It's madness because there are different ways to pull out of a fight: you can report that you've injured your elbow or knee and ask a doctor to sign off on it. I don't think he had to do that, considering there's so much money at stake, and I'm sure Fury wants to get it.

I think it will be an interesting fight. Usyk is a very good fighter, he beat Joshua twice, but still seems too small for Fury. Fury has to show everything he's capable of. Use everything he has in his arsenal – feints, footwork, speed, while not just relying on the advantage in power. He will be able to win if he is at his best," said Wallin.

Otto Wallin previously faced Tyson Fury in 2019 – Fury won by unanimous decision, although he sustained a cut.

It's reminded that the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight world title was postponed from February 17 to May 18 and will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
