Vladyslav Sirenko is ready to enter the ring this year

Ukrainian super heavyweight Vladyslav Sirenko (19-0, 16 KOs) spoke about his readiness to return to the ring in 2022. The boxer also emphasized that he had been without performances for almost a year due to Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.

"Why didn't you appear in the ring? First, the war in Ukraine is very difficult, very emotional. Many members of my family were forced to evacuate from Ukraine to the Netherlands. I am very sad that my family and my country have to go through hell."

"I also have relatives in Russia, which complicates the situation even more, because they do not have freedom of speech. But I have enough patience. I have to make sure I'm fully focused [on boxing] before I get back in the ring."

"I don't have any planned fights now. James [Bashir] is not worried because he knows that I need to be mentally and physically ready for the next fight."

"But I definitely want to fight this year, and next year I want to fight at least two or three times," Sirenko summed up.

Last year, Sirenko had four matches - the Ukrainian celebrated victories in all of them. In March, Sirenko defeated the Pole Kamil Sokolowski by decision of the judges, in June he knocked out the Frenchman Neufel Ouatta, in September he knocked out the Russian Alexander Ustinov.

In December 2021, Sirenko defended the WBC Asia super heavyweight championship belt against his compatriot Andrii Rudenko.
