Viktor Fesechko - about the vicissitudes of the star confrontation in the heavyweight division

Ukrainian judge and referee Viktor Fesechko in an interview with the YouTube channel "Boxing Studio of Victor Yalymov" said that the team of the British Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KO) tried to exclude him from working in a rematch with the world champion according to the versions of the WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF super heavyweight by Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

"We submitted an application. They filed for the first and second fight, and it is already being considered there. Two, three, or four people apply, and there they already choose and consider. In principle, I thought that I might not make it to the second fight. Joshua's team filed a protest to have me suspended. As a rule, either all judges are independent, or a representative of one country, another country and neutral."

"I don't know why Joshua's team wanted to remove me. The fact is that for the first fight, independent judges considered whether the judgment was correct or not, but everything came together. That's why I was also admitted to the rematch."

We will remind that Usyk and Joshua held a rematch on August 20 at the Jeddah Superdome arena in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The victory was won by a split decision of the judges.
