Vergil Ortiz: "I'm Not Just Power"

Super welterweight (up to 69,85 kg) boxer Vergil Ortiz (21-0, 21 KOs) from the USA has again won early in the first round for the second time in 2024. On the night of April 28th, he knocked out Thomas Dulorme (26-7-1, 17 KOs) and shared his plans for the near future.

"I'm not just power. I can't explain it in words. I knew it was over for Dulorme when I landed that shot. I'm ready for Tszyu. I just want to fight the best," said Ortiz.

Ortiz's next fight is already scheduled. On August 3rd, in the undercard of the Crawford vs. Madrimov fight, Vergil will face Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs). This fight has been sanctioned by the World Boxing Association (WBA). The winner will become the "interim" champion and contender for the winner of the Crawford vs. Madrimov match, unless Jermell Charlo exercises his right to a championship fight. Currently, Charlo is the "champion in recess."
