Former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder wants to fight another ex-champion, Anthony Joshua, in Africa.

"I would like to have this fight in Africa. This is still the number one fight in the world for everyone. Wherever I go, people always talk about my fight with Joshua. We both have servers there," explained Wilder.

“I think it would be an amazing place to come home to. Return to the homeland. The continent is full of our people. I think that there we will receive respect and love from all people."

Wilder will fight Robert Helenius on October 15 in Brooklyn. Oleksandr Usyk plans to attend this match. The Ukrainian previously said that Wilder could be his next opponent.

In August, Joshua lost a split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony has been in talks with WBC champion Tyson Fury about holding a fight at the end of 2022. However, the parties could not agree on the final details of the contract.

Joshua may decide on a new opponent in the near future. Among the candidates for a fight with him are Otto Wallin and Joe Joyce.
