The bout went the distance and ended in a unanimous draw — three scorecards of 113–113.

It was the first draw of Vargas’s career, halting his nine‑fight winning streak.

For Higa, this was a second consecutive draw — his previous outing against Seiya Tsutsumi also ended a unanimous draw — extending his three‑fight winless run.
