Usyk's team started negotiations with the British contender for his belts

The team of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) is currently negotiating with a contender for his WBA belt.

According to insider journalist Michael Benson, who cites Frank Warren, the boxer's promoter, it's likely that Briton Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) will be Usyk's next opponent.

Daniel Dubois, who is 25 years old and holds the WBA World title, has recently recovered from an injury. In order to prove that he's ready to fight as a mandatory contender for Usyk's belt, Dubois' team has sent a medical certificate to the WBA.

Although Dubois has 19 victories in the professional ring, he suffered his only defeat in November 2020 when he was knocked out by his compatriot Joe Joyce.

In his last fights, 36-year-old Oleksandr Usyk has defeated the British boxer Anthony Joshua twice, and he currently holds the WBA, WBO, and IBF super heavyweight world champion titles. However, his potential fight against Tyson Fury for the title of absolute champion of the world fell through recently due to the fault of the Briton, who holds the WBC title.
