At a press conference in Warsaw on July 10, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk and his British adversary Daniel Dubois faced off for the first time. The compelling moment was caught on video and shared on Twitter by esteemed sports journalist, Mike Benson.
In this mental game of wills, Usyk emerged victorious when Dubois broke eye contact first. Their much-anticipated match is set to take place on August 26 at the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, an impressive stadium that holds up to 45,000 spectators.
Dubois, at present, is the compulsory challenger for the title under the World Boxing Association (WBA).
Both fighters are coming off wins in their most recent matches. Usyk triumphed over Anthony Joshua with a unanimous decision on August 20, 2022, while Dubois claimed the WBA "regular" world title after knocking out Trevor Bryan of the United States on June 12, 2022.
