Usyk on Dubois Rematch: "Without Turki there would be obstacles"

WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) has spoken about a potential rematch with IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).

"The WBO has ordered me to defend their title, but right now, our team’s goal is to unify the belts with Daniel Dubois. We want the fight with Dubois. My team is ready. A lot depends on how God allows it to happen.

And the second key factor is His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, because he is the one who can make this fight happen. Without him, there would be obstacles.

I have always fought on my opponents’ turf. But now Saudi Arabia has created the best conditions for big fights, and it has become like a second home to me. When I fight there, I feel at home. Great people, great fans.

Right now, we can’t hold fights in Ukraine, but Saudi Arabia has been very welcoming, so it has become our second home," Usyk said.

Earlier, Usyk’s promoter suggested that the rematch with Dubois could take place at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.

The first fight between Usyk and Dubois took place in August 2023, with Usyk winning by knockout in the ninth round. However, controversy surrounded the bout, as Dubois dropped Usyk in the fifth round, only for the referee to rule it a low blow—a decision Dubois and his team still dispute.
