Two-division undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk addressed the possibility of returning to cruiserweight, where he first became an undisputed champion, collecting all four major titles.
"No, right now, I think it’s impossible because I spent six years working to put on this weight. I work, work, work, eat, eat, eat, and work. Now going back down? No.
It would be tough because I do blood tests, my condition is constantly monitored. My trainer and my team tell me, 'Listen, going back to cruiserweight is a bad idea because you’re not 24-25 anymore.' That’s what my team says, not me. I’m 38—okay, I’m young, very young. I love to dance. I feel good. I think I can fight without any problems", said Usyk.
Previously, both Usyk and his promoter Alexander Krassyuk had mentioned a cruiserweight return as a potential career move. However, Usyk has now made it clear how many fights he has left in boxing.
