Usyk on Canelo–Crawford: “12 Rounds, Judges’ Decision”

Undisputed Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk shared his thoughts on the fight between Mexican Saul Alvarez and American Terence Crawford.

Crawford has more skills, he works from both stances — orthodox and southpaw. Canelo is physically stronger, probably. But Crawford is smart, he sees what’s happening and instantly changes the situation. If Terence gets into an uncomfortable position, he switches. That works in boxing. Smaller fighters who can switch stances have an advantage. And Crawford is the only one who truly punches both as a right-hander and as a southpaw. For me, it’s a 50-50 fight. I think it will be decided on points — 12 rounds, judges’ decision,” said Usyk.

The fight between Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) and Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will take place on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, USA, with the undisputed Super Middleweight championship on the line. The event will be broadcast on Netflix.
