Usyk Offers a Poetic Surprise at Press Meeting with Dubois

In a press conference held in London, Oleksandr Usyk, the WBA, WBO, and IBF super heavyweight champion, faced his forthcoming opponent, Daniel Dubois, who is the mandatory contender for the WBA title.

In response to a question probing his views on the upcoming bout, Usyk took everyone by surprise. He poetically quoted lyrics from "Testament," a song by the musical ensemble Balsam.

"A black fog creeps over the shore,

The wind will again bring us sad news.

We have already broken the very last shackle,

The enemy wants to take everything away from us.

He is always capable only of vile deception,

Death and pain are all that he carries age after age.

But we cannot be broken, this is our eternal state,

The blood of all those indomitable people flows in our veins," was the stirring verse Usyk recited.

Moreover, the Ukrainian champ discussed his ravenous anticipation for the match and shared his thoughts on his adversary.

"I'm so glad to see everyone. Thank you, but I'm very hungry. Very, very hungry.”

“I think very well of my opponent, respect his team, him personally. He made his way. He reached the point where he became a contender. This is very good. See you on August 26. We will not talk much," Usyk stated at the press conference.

The much-anticipated match between Usyk and Dubois is set to take place on August 26, at the Tarczyński Arena in Wroclaw, Poland.
