Lapin Reveals Most Likely Months for Usyk’s Next Fight

Serhiy Lapin, CEO of Oleksandr Usyk’s team, has shared insight into when the two-time undisputed world champion might return to the ring.

“For Oleksandr, it doesn’t really matter who he faces next. He’s the kind of fighter who can step into the ring, assess his opponent, and get the job done. Of course, Dubois and Parker each have their own unique strengths, but that won’t be an issue for the champion,” Lapin said.

“If His Excellency Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season want to promote and support one or even both potential fights, that would be the ideal scenario for us.

We could hold the next training camp in Riyadh. That could work to our advantage, as it would allow Oleksandr to adapt to the climate and conditions ahead of the fight—if it does take place there.

It can be July, August, or September.

In reality, it all depends on the organizers. What we need is to be informed three months in advance so we can begin camp.

Oleksandr is capable of much more than people think. He wants to prove that. People used to say he was too small—and he’s already proven them wrong.

Now he wants to show that he can keep going. We’ve built a strong team around him—Ready to Fight—a team focused on one goal: undisputed. Oleksandr feels great. He’s still full of energy, and the team is fully behind him.

Of course, it’s up to him when he decides to retire. He’s enjoying what he’s doing right now. He’s ready. He’s in shape. He’s said he’ll retire when he gets tired of the game. But right now? He’s in form and enjoying the ride.

These could be the final two fights of the year—but who knows what the future holds,” Lapin said.

Recently, Joseph Parker issued a unique and creative challenge to Usyk, calling him out in a memorable way.
