Usyk's Manager: "Oleksandr Has Already Started Camp"

In an interview with iFL TV, Egis Klimas, the manager of the heavyweight titleholder (WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF, over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and Head of Partnerships at Ready To Fight, commented on Anthony Joshua's (28-3, 22 KOs) victory over former UFC champion Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs).

- Were you impressed by Joshua's performance?

- Yes. I'm impressed by another showcase of boxing vs. MMA. But Anthony looked in his element. He's in good spirits, not running around, emotionless. I really like it.

- Did he look like a different fighter compared to his fights with Usyk?

- We can't go back and say where his mind was and where he was in that fight. Usyk won twice, but Joshua looked very good in the previous fight too.

- Now that this fight is over, all attention shifts to May 18. How is Oleksandr doing?

- He's doing well. He has already started camp. He's currently in a camp in Spain, training, and preparing for the fight.

- Fury's cut seems to be healing. So, everything should be fine by May 18.

- We hope and pray for that. Hopefully, everything will be fine, and on May 18, these men will enter the ring, and the best man will win.

On March 8, in Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua faced Francis Ngannou. Joshua sent his opponent to the canvas in the first round. In the second, the Brit finished the confrontation by sending his opponent to a second knockdown, then finishing him off with a single punch.

The bout for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion between WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
