In the Cage with Joshua, Bare Knuckle, Jon Jones: Lapin on Usyk's Plans

CEO of Ready To Fight and director of the team for WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight (over 90.7 kg) champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), Sergey Lapin, discussed the rematch against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and the future plans of the Ukrainian boxer.

"Fury will get another chance in December, but this time the fight won't go the full distance. Usyk has studied, analyzed, and seen all his tricks. Fury has nothing left; this will be the last fight of his career. Usyk will retire Tyson Fury.

He has proven to be the best of his generation, and once he ends Tyson Fury's career, he will consider his options. It might be a move down in weight class, or an unexpected opportunity could present itself.

This could be in a boxing ring, an MMA cage, or even in a bare-knuckle championship organized by Conor McGregor. Can you imagine Usyk and Jon Jones fighting to prove who is the biggest badass on the planet? Or maybe it will be a third fight with Anthony Joshua in an MMA cage.

Perhaps it will be a fight against Jake Paul in heavyweight, although Usyk would have to fight him with one hand behind his back to make it fair," Lapin told Betway.

To recap, on May 18, Oleksandr Usyk won a split decision over Tyson Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for the first time since 1999 when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in their rematch.

The Usyk-Fury rematch is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winner of the bout will likely face the victor of the fight between Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and IBF champion Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs), scheduled for September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.
