Usyk Asked What Will Happen If He Loses the Fury Rematch

On May 18, Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) of Ukraine claimed a split decision victory over Britain's Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) in a fight to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

After the fight, both boxers expressed interest in a rematch, which is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Recently, Usyk was asked what would happen if he loses the rematch to Fury.

“I don’t think about that; I don’t have such a plan. As an Orthodox Christian, I understand that such things are possible.

I’m preparing for the toughest challenge but trust in the Lord to guide me down the right path, whether that ends in victory or not,” Usyk said.

With his victory over Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999, when Lennox Lewis achieved the title by defeating Evander Holyfield in a rematch.
