Oleksandr Krasyuk: Usyk fight will take place on May 18

Oleksandr Krassyuk, the promoter of WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF super heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), has revealed that the Ukrainian will definitely be boxing on May 18:

"Usyk must fight on May 18 under any circumstances. That means if Fury pulls out, there must be another opponent ready on the undercard who is preparing for the bout. And as is normally done in big shows, in the event that the main fighter pulls out, the second, if somehow the second cannot perform, then the third, who should be his opponent, becomes a participant in the main event. In reality, in big fights, such things happen. Moreover, I will say more - when Usyk fought Gassiev, and we had a lot of problems with the organizers, there was a heavyweight boxer from Hungary waiting in the dressing room in case Usyk decided to withdraw at the last moment. When I write my memoirs, then I will tell the story after the victory," said Krasyuk.

Recently, Usyk and Fury's fight has been postponed twice: from December 23 to February 17 and from February 17 to May 18, each time due to the British boxer's injury.
