As summer approaches, Oleksandr Usyk (20-0-0, 13 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (19-1-0, 18 KOs) are primed for an extraordinary boxing showdown. Set to take place on August 26 at Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland, the clash between these two heavyweights will be the centerpiece of a large-scale boxing event. This grand spectacle is being organized by K2 Promotions in collaboration with 3 Knockout Promotions and Skill Challenge Promotions.
Usyk, the reigning IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight world champion, will revisit Poland, the country where his ascent to the absolute cruiserweight championship started seven years ago. Dubois, who holds the WBA "regular" world champion title, is confident about bringing the belts back home to the UK.
The event's organizers are elated with the prospect of a large number of Ukrainian and Polish fans witnessing this historic clash.
"This grand event opens another chapter in our joint history - both socially and in the sports sphere," said Andrzej Wasilewski of Knockout Promotions. "We are glad that Oleksandr Usyk, a great man and a phenomenal athlete, will once again fight in Poland. Our team has been working for 25 years, during which we have organized many outstanding events, including numerous fights for world titles. However, we have never hosted a fight for multiple heavyweight titles on Polish soil!"
Details regarding ticket sales remain undisclosed but are expected to be available on ebilet.pl. Additional information about when the tickets will go on sale will be announced in due course.
The undercard will showcase the exceptional talent of Fiodor Czerkaszyn, who has already established himself as one of the world's premier middleweight fighters, alongside the promising Rafal Wolczecki.
Wasilewski emphasized the great honor of being a co-organizer of such a significant event, extending his gratitude to Usyk's team for their collaboration.
"I want to thank the entire Usyk team, including my long-time friend Alex Krassyuk, for their friendship, excellent relationships, and fantastic cooperation," he added.
The event partners include Usyk 17 Promotions, Queensberry Promotions, and Ready To Fight, with Onet Przeglad Sportowy serving as the media partner.
