Upset of the Year? Barroso Knocks Out Davis Early

On the night of January 6th to 7th in Las Vegas, USA, 40-year-old Venezuelan Ismael Barroso (25-4-2, 23 KOs) scored an early victory against 31-year-old Briton Ohara Davis (25-3, 18 KOs). In the very first round, the British favorite encountered a left hook from the seasoned underdog. Davis struggled to get up, attempted to continue, but within seconds found himself knocked down again. After the second fall, the referee inquired multiple times if Ohara was ready to continue before ultimately stopping the fight.

For Davis, this is his first defeat since 2018 when he lost to Jack Catterall by a judges' decision. Barroso, on the other hand, bounced back with this victory after an early defeat to Rolando Romero, where the referee prematurely halted the fight despite Ismael not taking any significant damage.
