Undercard of Jake and Gervonta: What Happens to Russell vs Hiraoka

Gary Russell Jr., Andy Hiraoka / MVP

The heavyweight division boxer and influencer Jake Paul announced that his November 14 meeting against WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis will not take place. The outlet Brunch Boxing, citing its sources, detailed what awaits the undercard of the showdown. In particular, the meeting of Andy Hiraoka and Gary Russell Jr.

First option – stay on Jake’s card, which he wants to move to the third week of December. However, this will be possible only if Paul faces a Premier Boxing Champions boxer. Among the replacements for Gervonta was also the PBC boxer Rolando Romero.

Second option – if Jake faces a boxer not connected to PBC. Then Russell and Hiraoka will meet in January. It is reported that on the same card the fight between Sebastian Fundora and Keith Thurman, postponed due to the former’s injury, may also take place.

The Japanese Hiraoka (24-0, 19 KOs) is on a streak of 10 consecutive stoppage wins. The American Russell (18-1, 17 KOs) outboxed Jose Valenzuela in his previous fight.
