Ukrainian Commentator Describes Fury’s Team Behavior During Usyk Rematch

Ukrainian boxing commentator Volodymyr Kobelkov, who was present in Riyadh during the rematch between WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs), shared his observations on how Fury’s team handled the fight.

– You were seated right near the ring. Were there any moments when you sensed nervousness from Usyk’s team or, conversely, from Fury’s corner? Last time, Fury’s corner seemed chaotic. How was it this time?

– I was almost sitting in Fury’s corner due to my placement. From the first to the last second, they were nervous. The coach gave clear instructions until about the fifth or sixth round. After that, it was just “Hold on,” “Hit,” “You need to connect.”

He started to unravel when he realized he wasn’t going to get to Oleksandr Usyk again. He drifted, and, well, we all saw where he ended up.

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury via unanimous decision.
