Ukrainian Boxer Zakhozhyi Discusses Mike Tyson's Involvement in Ngannou Training Camp

Ukrainian super heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Zakhozhyi (18-0, 14 KOs) sparred with Francis Ngannou in preparation for his fight against Tyson Fury, scheduled for October 28 in Saudi Arabia.

In a recent interview, Zakhozhyi was asked whether he had met Mike Tyson, who was announced as Ngannou's coach:

- Have you seen Tyson in the camp?

- I haven't seen him at all.

- Have the people you've talked to seen him anywhere besides media events?

- Well, they talk about it with a smirk. I ask, 'When will we see Mike Tyson?' And they say, 'When there are more cameras.'

"Maybe they had a camp in America because they're only in Saudi Arabia for two weeks.

"We know from other camps that whoever is coaching can do it online. They review, work on mistakes, and then say what needs to be improved.

I believe Mike Tyson is there for the media's sake. Perhaps he showed him (Ngannou) a few techniques. But, with common sense, we know that Mike Tyson's tactics won't work here. Tyson is 1.80 meters tall, while Ngannou is a pretty big, tall guy. The body shots that Mike usually throws won't work here," Zakhozhyi said.
