Ukrainian athlete Anastasia Taran became the champion of Europe in boxing among juniors.

In the final match, Taran defeated the representative of Ireland, Mary McDonagh. According to the results of the fight, four out of five judges gave victory to the Ukrainians.

Earlier, Ukrainians Victoria Shcherbina and Taisia ​​Pokusai became bronze medalists of the European Junior Championship in Montesilvano (Italy).

We will remind that initially the junior boxing team of Ukraine left the European Championship, which is taking place in Italy. This decision was made after the IBA did not allow the Ukrainian national team to compete under the national flag.

Later, the International Boxing Association revised its decision and allowed Ukrainian boxers to compete under the national flag at international tournaments.
