It's a toe-to-toe showdown as Ukrainian ring warrior Artem Dalakian gears up to defend his WBA lightweight title against Japan's hard-hitter Seigo Akui. The bout's set to sizzle on January 23 in the Land of the Rising Sun, promising a real barnburner for fight fans.
Initially, these two pugilists were supposed to trade leather in Tokyo on November 15, 2023. But the fight card got shuffled when the main scrap between WBA champ Takuma Inoue and Jerwin Ancajas got canned due to Inoue's injury, as per Teiken Promotion's ringside report on October 28.
Dalakian, the Ukrainian slugger, last laced up his gloves in January 2023, outboxing David Jimenez at London's Wembley Stadium with a judges' nod. Akui, not to be outdone, also clinched a win in his February 2023 tussle against Jason Vayson. Now, Dalakian's ready to throw down in a Japanese squared circle for the first time.
