Mike Tyson Names His Favorite for a Possible Crawford–Canelo Rematch

Former undisputed Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson shared his thoughts on Terence Crawford’s victory over Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, and expressed support for the idea of a potential rematch.

“It was great, incredible. He deserves all the respect. He climbed to the top and conquered it. He’s like Henry Armstrong. Henry Armstrong won the Welterweight (66.7 kg) title starting from Featherweight (57.2 kg). Can you imagine? A Featherweight fighter beating a Welterweight champion.

That had never happened before, and it probably won’t happen again in modern boxing. A Featherweight champion beating a Welterweight champion — that’s unique.

Should Canelo have a rematch with Terence Crawford? It’s a good idea, yes, I support the rematch. Last time I picked Canelo, now I’ve got to pick Crawford,” said Iron Mike.

In September, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) moved up from Super Welterweight (69.9 kg) to Super Middleweight (76.2 kg) and defeated the undisputed champion of the division, Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs), by unanimous decision.
