Former world champ Carl Froch clapped back at Tyson Fury's dad, John Fury, with a few choice words of his own:
"John called me a 'first-class shi##er.' In his book, that must mean he sees me as a pushover scared to face anyone in the ring. Just check my track record. I've squared up against the best. Fear? Not in my dictionary. 'I'm not afraid of any man born from a mother,' echoing your boy Tyson Fury's words.
Then he labels me an 'ex.' What's that about? Sounds like sour grapes from someone who's never tasted world championship glory. So what, are all the legends who've hung up their gloves—Sugar Ray Leonard and Muhammad Ali—all forgotten? It's pure nonsense, and it reeks of jealousy. Me, jealous? Never. I've got nothing but respect for fighters raking in the dough for the toughest gig out there. There is no green-eyed monster here. Once a champ, always a champ.
If I'm throwing shade at your son, it's only my two cents... Cool it, Big John. Are you planning to throw down next time we meet? Not happening. You're more likely to come over and shake my hand. And that'd be the right move.
I don't need to knock Tyson to prop up my legacy. Tyson's got his four wins over the champs. Me? I've notched up 11. There's a reason I'm in the Hall of Fame," Froch fired back.
This was in the wake of John Fury's barb: "Froch is a first-class shi##er looking for a boot in the rear. He's got one coming if he ever steps to me."
That was John Fury, flying off the handle after Froch dared to critique his son's record.
