Former champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) summed up his training camp and declared he will bring an end to the professional career of unified heavyweight titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).
“I feel better than ever before. Honestly, I’m in great shape, had an excellent training camp, and sparred more than I have in the last few years. I was able to do what always helped me push forward.
If I couldn’t fight, I wouldn’t risk stepping into the ring just for a few extra pounds that, in the end, don’t change anything for me. If I felt I wasn’t the same fighter, I’d be the first to say, ‘You know what, I’m done.’
But that’s not the case at all. I’m far from done with my career. Right now, I feel fantastic and can’t wait for Saturday night. I’m going to finish him and put a stop to his career. After this fight, you won’t hear about Oleksandr anymore,” Fury stated.
The rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will take place on December 21 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In their first bout, the Ukrainian won by split decision, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years.
