Tyson Fury Claims He Was Only at 40% in the First Fight with Usyk

Former unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) is confident he will knock out the reigning WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch.

- At first, many believed you didn’t need to do anything different than what you’d already shown. What are you going to do?

- I’m going to knock that egghead out. That’s what SugarHill and I are planning. Knock him out. Last time, I did everything right but didn’t get him. It was a close fight. This time, it’ll be a different fight. I’ll be a different man, a different fighter—40% last time, 110% this time.

- There’s a rumor that in the previous training camp, you didn’t spar at all because of a cut. Is that true?

- That’s not true. I did a bit of sparring, but not as much as I would have liked. I’m not making excuses, but let’s say the real Tyson Fury will show up on Saturday night.

- Oleksandr Usyk said he believes he can stop you. He didn’t say that before, so he’s obviously coming in with new confidence. Would you like to respond to that?

- I believe I’ll knock him out. I don’t think I’ll do it—I know I’ll do it. When he comes forward, I’ll destroy him. I’ve always been fearless and proved it time and time again in the heavyweight division. I’m here to give a spectacular fight and take back everything I lost, said Fury.

The rematch between the boxers will take place on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
