Former world champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) admitted that he considers his performance against reigning heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), who holds the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO titles, one of the best of his career. Despite falling short, Fury expressed doubts about whether he could top that performance in the rematch.
"I doubt I can perform better than I did in the first fight. I believe it was probably one of the best performances of my life. Even though I didn’t get the result I wanted, it was a fantastic showing against one of the best opponents I’ve faced.
Can I be better? Can I do more? I think I can be more focused and joke around less. That might be enough,” said Fury.
In May, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury via split decision, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999. The rematch is set for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
