Former world heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Tyson Fury (34–2–1, 24 KOs) has declared the end of his professional boxing career. The British boxer shared the announcement on his social media:
“Hello, everyone! I’ll keep this short and to the point. I want to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been amazing—I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
I’ll wrap it up with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everyone. See you on the other side. Get up!”
Fury’s last fights were two showdowns against WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk: On May 18, Fury lost by split decision, and on December 21, by unanimous decision.
