The head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al Al-Sheikh, announced that he plans to organize a fight between the undisputed super middleweight champion (76.2 kg) Saul Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) and the WBA, WBC, and WBO welterweight (66.7 kg) champion Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) in December or January.
"I'm working on reaching an agreement with Canelo, but it will be a big fight for Crawford. I'll discuss names with him," said Turki.
In the early hours of May 5, Saul Alvarez defeated Jaime Munguia (43-1, 34 KOs) by unanimous decision, defending his undisputed champion title for the fourth time.
On August 3, Terence Crawford will face WBA super welterweight champion (69.9 kg) Israil Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs). In addition to Madrimov's belt, the WBO interim title will also be at stake in the fight.
