According to Combat Sports Law and combat sports attorney Eric Magraken, Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh and UFC President Dana White are reportedly pursuing amendments to the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act—a federal law designed to protect fighters from exploitation.
This development was confirmed by Michael Mazzulli, President of the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports (ABC).
“UFC/TKO is currently pushing for amendments to the Muhammad Ali Act. The ABC board is working with them to ensure the organization remains part of federal law,” said Mazzulli.
The Ali Act protects boxers from exploitative contracts, grants them access to promoters’ financial disclosures, prohibits conflicts of interest between managers and promoters, and prevents title monopolization—ensuring that elite fighters can operate within an open and competitive market.
