Tszyu Shares Potential Alternatives to Thurman Fight

Australian WBO light middleweight (up to 69,85 kg) champion Tim Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) has opened up about who could have been in the opposite corner instead of former world champion Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs), who had to withdraw from their bout due to an injury.

"Everyone has weaknesses, everyone has strengths, and it's all about exploiting them. They offered me Fundora and Lara. I didn't want to break Zerafa's heart. Right now, I'm in the light middleweight division. I want to make a name for myself here.

I'll do a few sparring sessions to clear my mind. I'll be ready. Thurman's withdrawal initially shocked me, but I've been through this a few times before. At first, I was disappointed because I had focused all my preparation on this guy," Tszyu explained.

On March 30th in Las Vegas, Tszyu is set to face Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs), who was initially scheduled to fight Ukrainian Serhii Bohachuk (23-1, 23 KOs). Bogachuk has since been matched with a new opponent, Bryan Mendoza.

The undercard of the fight will also feature a bout between Erislandy Lara and Michael Zerafa.
