Renowned American trainer Robert Garcia commented on the recent successes of Ukrainian boxers and believes that Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) might surprise the boxing world by defeating David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs).
«We might still see Gvozdyk beat Benavidez. These Ukrainians are simply amazing. They’re from the same country, and considering what their country is going through today, the boxing world is proud and happy for them and their achievements. They are at the top of the world when it comes to boxing. There are no happier people right now than they are.
The victories they've had in recent weeks are just incredible. We should be happy for them,» said Garcia.
On the night of May 19, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury, and Denys Berinchyk beat Emanuel Navarrete.
Oleksandr Gvozdyk and David Benavidez will face off on June 15 in Las Vegas, USA. The interim WBC light heavyweight title will be on the line.
