Trainer: "Isaac Will Beat Loma"

Trainer Robert Garcia discussed which lightweight boxers (up to 61.2 kg) would pose problems for the former three-division champion Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs).

"If Lomachenko becomes champion, then I think Isaac Cruz will give him trouble. If Navarrete becomes champion, then I'm sure he'll also be problematic for him. Shakur is like Haney. It'll be a bit harder, but Pitbull will still be a problem. I'm not saying he'll beat everyone, but he'll put up good fights.

I definitely see Cruz as the favorite over Lomachenko if Loma becomes champion. Loma is a cool fighter, good angles, but he's getting older. And Salido wore him out with pressure. 'Pitbull' won't let him breathe. I think Pitbull will beat Loma. That's what I believe.

Guys at super lightweight – they are stronger, bigger. Matias, Teofimo, Devin – they are dangerous. It won't be easy, but Cruz will deliver good rounds. At lightweight, I believe Navarrete will also be dangerous because he hits hard. But both Navarrete and Loma, probably those are the ones 'Pitbull' would have an advantage against," Garcia stated.

On May 12, Lomachenko will fight George Kambosos for the vacant IBF belt. Emanuel Navarrete on May 18 will face off against Denys Berinchyk for the vacant WBO lightweight belt (up to 61.2 kg).

On the night of March 31, Isaac Cruz became the WBA super lightweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) after defeating Rolando Romero by technical knockout in the 8th round.
